Creating a Critter with Edna!

Hi Folks, I’m Edna, one of the comic creators involved with the LET’S GO! A Kids Comics Studio Anthology currently on Kickstarter…

I’d like to share a little bit about our Create-A-Critter Reward because making art with and for kids is my happy place. I guess that’s because I feel like a big kid sometimes. (Well, maybe a lot. ;))

How this works

A group of Let’s Go! Anthology artists are eagerly waiting to interpret a critter drawing by a kid. For example, if you know a kid who likes to draw, just send us their drawing of a critter
and we will transform it into a newly illustrated critter on a special bookplate!  How cool is that? This is a rare opportunity for kids to collaborate with artists from the anthology!

We love kid critters!

Kids draw freely and let their imaginations soar which are some of the many reasons wanna collaborate with them.

Introducing three critter collaborations I did with kid artists, Kenzie (age 6), Peyton (age 4) and Lila (age 3).  Kenzie and Peyton are brother and sister so I their art is mostly likely posted together on the fridge. Lila, the youngest of the artists, gave her monster critter a name. Be sure to check out the short clip of Lila telling us just what kind of monster he is. (Scroll down to the end…)

I Drew New Versions of these Critters
When I came up with new interpretations, I decided to change my art style to match who I think these critters are.

Inspired by Peyton’s critter…

Riffing from Kenzie’s critter…

Reinventing Lila’s critter, a monster named Maddo…

Lila talks about Maddo the monster critter.

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you’ll consider this critter collaboration opportunity! Enjoy a great week! =)
