We will be joined by Steve Metzger and Brian Schatell, creators of Bumble Brothers: Crazy for Comics; Marla Lesage, creator of AWOL; Berrie Torgan-Randall, creator of Bella and Blue; and Jonathan Roth, creator of Rover and Speck

Steve Metzger is the award-winning author of more than 80 children’s books, including The Way I Act (approved for classroom use by the California Department of Education), Detective Blue (IRA-CBC Children’s Choice List, SLJ starred review), Pluto Visits Earth! (ABC Best Books for Children), and Yes, I Can Listen!” a Eureka! Honor Award winner from the California Reading Association. His latest, The Bumble Brothers: Crazy for Comics! is a middle-grade graphic novel chosen by the Junior Library Guild as a Gold Standard Selection.

Berrie Torgan-Randall has been passionate about children’s literature since she was a little girl and has fed her desire by becoming a children’s librarian and by pursuing a career as an illustrator and writer of children’s books. Berrie studied at Syracuse University earning a BFA in Media Arts and Surface Pattern Design. Pursuing her desire to work with children, she returned to school and earned a Masters Degree in Information Studies at Drexel University. As a teacher/librarian and mother of three children, Berrie has created and developed her stories drawn from real-life experiences and her imagination.

Marla Lesage is an Atlantic Canadian author/illustrator of books for children. Her debut middle grade graphic novel, AWOL, was inspired by her family’s journey with PTSD.

Jonathan Roth writes and illustrates the new graphic novel series ROVER AND SPECK, as well as the BEEP AND BOB chapter book series. He also teaches elementary art just outside DC in Maryland. When not creating or teaching, he can be found cycling, hiking, canoeing or napping.
