For over twenty years Alec Longstreth has drawn comics EVERY day, which has helped him draw over 2,000 pages of comics which have been collected into nine books. In this talk Alec will show how working on your comics a little bit every day adds up, and can help you build discipline and a sustainable cartooning practice.

Alec Longstreth is an award-winning cartoonist, illustrator, and animator who lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.  Since 2002 he has self-published twenty-five issues of his minicomic, Phase 7 which have been collected into seven books. In 2016, he launched his Eisner-nominated webcomic, Isle of Elsi.  Two French translations of Alec’s graphic novels have been published by L’employé du Moi. In 2007 Alec graduated from Pratt Institute’s illustration program with highest honors. His illustration clients include Weezer, Little, Brown & Co., Highlights, Nickelodeon Magazine, National Geographic for Kids, and many others. Alec has also worked as a digital colorist for graphic novels published by Scholastic, and First Second Books. In 2008 Alec was a fellow at the Center for Cartoon Studies and after eight years as a member of the CCS faculty, he now works as the school’s Director of Academic Outreach.
