Unfamiliar Territory
Set in the 2010s of mid-Michigan, join three siblings, Roseate, Indigo, and Navy Bloo, who escape their lives as lab experiments, hoping to secretly blend into a free society. As they navigate sibling rivalries, living on their own in the seasons of life, and personal insecurities, they grapple with what it means to be a family. Roseate is the reliable older sister who strives to raise her siblings while balancing her own childish tendencies. Indigo suppresses his feelings to fit in, desperately seeking to be well-liked by his peers. Meanwhile, Bloo is hyperactive and attention-seeking. She yearns to prove herself and escape her siblings' shadows.
Will this “Trauma Trio” thrive on their own, or long for the simplicity of their past?

Being an aunt has made me a bit envious of my niece and nephews' interactions, because they get along so well, unlike my brother and me. What was the issue between us? As the oldest, my brother felt pressure to meet high expectations, while I, as the youngest, had a more relaxed environment with extra protection. My brother sees me as a spoiled, talented kid who hasn't experienced real pain, and I admired him from afar, unable to escape his shadow. We are like night and day, and despite our differences, we love each other but find it hard to show it. I created this comic to explore sibling differences and how birth order affects life's challenges, hoping to better understand and grow from our relationship.
