I loved fantasy. I had wanted to write a book about witches and Wizards ever since I picked up my first volume of Harry Potter. I wanted to write stories for children who struggle with finding healthy role models in their lives. As a queer kid living in a poor black neighborhood, I struggled with finding good depictions of healthy and responsible adults in my life. That is where libraries, teachers, and school life become my bastion of safety. Education became a lifelong passion, and I want to write stories that not only entertain but also serve as a moral backbone for young people to follow.
