The Scrappers
The Scrappers follows a group of four orphaned children, Lith, Volt, Sprocket and Violet who live in a scrapyard, assembling robots from the discarded scrap around them. They have befriended a boy named Allen, the grandson of the blind man who owns the scrapyard, and with Allen’s help they keep their presence a secret while building and selling their robots. In each chapter of The Scrappers the young team will find themselves on a unique adventure, all starting from when they decide to send their youngest member, Violet, to the dreaded elementary school. They will compete in Robot Boxing, fight a turf war, end up on a runaway train and more in this kid friendly rustic sci-fi adventure!

The Scrappers is a book about robot fights and scrapyards, but our 'why' when writing it came from the found family at the core of the story. We are both writers who have found community in the comic book world, and we have experienced firsthand the positive impact of being surrounded by welcoming, creative, and hard-working people. Those people have been the blueprint for the characters in this book, who are just as warm, inventive, and stubborn... but they also get to build epic robots!
