The Misadventures of Mucus & Toot
Down in the dank and musty depths beneath the floorboards, Mucus and Toot can’t help but revel in the chaos they cause their unwitting human housemates. From bogging the brother’s bedroom, to tainting the dad’s toothpaste, these pranksters are happiest when tormenting their rudimentary roommates. Never could these self-respecting slugs imagine themselves growing fond of the family they spent so much time tormenting, but realizing the younger sisters stole their slime covered hearts…inconceivable! As if loving bipeds wasn’t bad enough, these slugs must now protect them when their long-lost humanity-hating cousin’ Hurl shows up, all while trying to keep him from discovering their new deepest and darkest secret.

My Why:
As kids are growing up, faster now than ever before, I wanted to create something that could hold their attention, remind them that life is not lived through a screen, and leave them laughing. What started as an ever evolving bed time story for my children has morphed into an amazing graphic novel. With all the humor of the “Tom and Jerry” and “Pinky and the Brain” comics, this tale‘s twist allows the characters to develop beyond their origins, showcasing that everyone is capable of breaking the mold and changing their mindset for the better. I remember the joy I felt reading comics and I want to pass that feeling on in hopes that one day this story may be remembered fondly by someone reflecting on their own childhood.
