Beau and the Snake Riders
After a chance encounter with the Gentlecats in Boots when he was a kitten, all Beau has ever wanted is to be a part of the group. They are stylish, brave, and, most of all, loved by everyone. However, lacking the funds or the connections to be one of them, he comes up with scheme after scheme to raise the money. When one of his plans accidentally places him in the middle of an attack by the infamous Snake Riders, he might just get the opportunity to prove himself - if he survives. As he and his friends investigate the reason behind the attack, Beau realizes there is a darker side to the Gentlecats in Boots than he ever knew. He will have to choose between getting what he wants and doing what is right.

Puss in Boots was my favorite fairy tale growing up, so it was only natural for me to choose it as the inspiration for a portfolio piece. Except, once I started sketching the illustration instead of following the original story, I started coming up with different characters and fun scenarios for illustrations. Ideas kept pouring in. It became obvious to me that it was a story I just needed to develop and create, if only to give life to what my imagination kept coming up with.
Combining my love of animals, action, and adventures with a sprinkle of social justice, I am writing a story I would've loved to read as a child.
