Coativille: The Golden Valley of Spheres
Think DOUBLE BOOKING meets BE PREPARED and FRESH START with an extra dose of tropical rainforest and exotic creatures - that's COATIVILLE, an action/adventure middle grade graphic novel. When 9-year-old Daniel begrudgingly moves to a new, exotic town with his mother surrounded by wild forests, he expects boredom and missing his former city life —not a whirlwind chain of adventures involving a quest to rescue a missing capybara, stumble upon a mischievous 500-year-old spirit guardian and together outwit a ruthless mutant bounty hunter in search of a legendary, powerful golden frog, while making new, quirky and loyal friends along the way —finding out that this place might be where he finally belongs.

My Why:
I have been attracted to write, draw and create stories and characters of my own since childhood. Some of the characters present in this graphic novel project have been with me for decades and I felt it was about time to finally build and develop them an universe of their very own, and one I can truly identify myself with. Being a believer on 'writing what you know', I'm driven by my own Costa Rican heritage, travel experience, indigenous myths and stories as sources of inspiration, in hopes to bring in a new voice, stories and points of view to the international market. I have also been part of KCU since 2021 and a contributing author to their first collective anthology, Let's Go.
