Burrows & Beasts: The Great Acorn Crusade
Three ordinary underdogs want nothing more than to become heroes to show the world what they’re really made of. But when a horse from another dimension kidnaps Squirrel’s grandpa, Pappy, and disappears through a mysterious portal that seals shut behind them, the best friends rethink their career choice... Squirrel and her best buds, Skunk and Beaver, must unlock the secret of interdimensional travel, join forces with an unlikely ally, and harness magical powers hidden within themselves to stop the evil (self-proclaimed) acorn king, Timothy, from overtaking Equercus.
Dungeons and Dragons meets Bird and Squirrel.

As a kid, I loved fantasy and would plaster our home’s walls with drawings of every type of unicorn my imagination could conjure up (to my mother’s dismay). I think it would’ve made for awesome wallpaper!
Painfully shy as a kid, I found solace in magical worlds as a bold, fearless adventurer. Now, as a big kid, I’m not so shy and enjoy playing characters with terrible accents while I toss dice to battle mythical beasts. Recently, I’ve been focusing my creative energy on developing my own version of D&D to play with the children in my life. The game is called Burrows & Beasts and the first campaign is the inspiration for this graphic novel project. Oh, and while I haven’t met an actual unicorn (yet), I'm hopeful we’ll find one on Europa.

Hi, I'm Jess, an artist and writer living in Atlantic Canada. With a passion for old fishing towns, folklore, fantasy, and all things scary, I never run out of ideas for my stories. As a proud mama of a human kiddo and an awkward feline named Lovie Christmas, I enjoy cuddles ‘n snuggles, movies ‘n snacks, fort-building 'n books, and ninja hide-and-seek. I also love gardening, welding, playing piano and video games, teeny toys, and bourbon. If I'm not creating or working, I'm being a goofball.
