Meerie Means Well
Meerie's the new girl at Thunder Peak Elementary, and saying she's rocking it to the foundations is putting it... accurately. Odd things happen when she's around. Strange, slimy, slithery, creepy, crawly things that defy explanation.
Meerie and her eccentric parents research the forest's otherworldly phenomena and its wondrous folk, some becoming an extended family in their ramshackle manor at the edge of the wilderness.
These marvelous entities are from Thundronia, one dimension next door. Finding themselves lost in our world and needing protection from fearful or furious suburbanites, Meerie and her new school friends combine their skills to rescue them and their haven in the woods beyond the 'burbs from corrupt developers… and worse.

Meerie's struggle to connect with her peers reflects the isolation I felt growing up. I wanted to be accepted but also authentic to myself. Feeling different and ostracized is more common than many are keen to admit, and yet we are all wonderfully unique with interests and abilities that make us collectively stronger. Meerie is the most obviously unusual, but all of her new friends have their own personal strengths and setbacks.
Through honesty and bravery Meerie and her companions are able to dissolve harmful preconceptions between the people of Thunder Peak and Thundronia, leading the way to a new age of cooperation.

I'm a grateful father of two wacky and endlessly surprising kids... and I haven't entirely grown up: I still read comics and watch too many cartoons!
I design Kids Apparel Graphics for mass market retailers, but my true drive is creating well-developed characters, world building, and crafting fun and freaky stories that promote freedom of thought, self-accountability, empathy, and appreciation for the natural world.
