Margot Ghosts The World
If Margot seems like a loner, it's only because ghosts don't count. Ghosts want to socialize wherever they find her. If only that was the case with the people in her life. Lately she can't even get along with her bff Lou.
Yet, she finds herself in an old house by the beach with Lou. And the popular girl Stella, who all of a sudden wants to be friends. And some Stan boy she doesn't even know. And Oscar's ghost.
He's been there for a hundred years, but can't remember why. Margot can help uncover his past - but should she trust what she sees, when contradicting stories emerge? Can she solve the contradictions in her own life? Margot's determined to prove that Stella is not to be trusted – but does she even know her? Does she know herself?

300My Why:
I'm making this book for the 13 year old me who wanted Disney characters to have complex inner lives and princesses to be flawed beyond just "clumsy". Who wanted someone to question my critical inner voice. Ultimately, it's a story about getting out of your own head, which is a big part of growing up. I haven't seen coming-of-age being explored through this lens much. Understanding that your inner voice might be biased and built on past trauma. That it stands in the way of the most authentic you. To know that everyone has this inner voice and to have this in mind before you judge them. This is what my protagonist learns by talking to ghosts.
