Moose and Goose: Hatch and Release
Moose is perfectly happy ALONE, in fact, he prefers it… So when an energetic and rather talkative Goose turns up one day, he’s not prepared for the mayhem that follows. His forest stroll is now an epic adventure. His quiet spot of fishing is entirely too noisy. Even his attempts at cooking lead to explosive results. Close to losing his cool, Moose finally learns that true friendship takes compromise - and that when opposites attract they can lead to a world of fun.
Blending the grumpy bear character of Mother Bruce with the energetic chatterbox of Wordy Birdy, MOOSE AND GOOSE is a humorous, 2,000-word, 4-stories-in-1, graphic novel for early readers in the style of Ally and Beak.

While MOOSE AND GOOSE was written as a fictitious, young-buddy duo, it was inspired by real-life conversations between an adult and a child – specifically my joyous, overly enthusiastic, slightly annoying, chatterbox of a son, and me, the perpetual grump.
I’m confident that families will recognise themselves and the humour in these delightful characters in which word play and over-simplified logic lead to hysterical, frustrating and heart- warming adventures.

Kate is an Australian-born, New Zealand-based children’s book writer and illustrator. Her first picture book, written at age eight, was a reinterpretation of Little Red Riding Hood, which promptly landed her in detention for its cheeky nature. The reprimand only served to inspire a love for tongue in cheek humour, which Kate now strives to infuse in her stories and art.
She is a member of SCBWI, ASA, 12x12 and Inked Voices and as an illustrator, has three books published to date.
