I Sing the Moon
The smallest creature in the Jurassic Era Night Village, Skye the Dire Wolf is not too young to learning how to howl the Moon into the Sky with Dad. But night games bring challenges…
Skye attempts to dance across tree branches like Lightfoot the baby Sabretooth… but tumbles to the mud. Above, Cha Cha the young Ambopteryx, screeches, “If you can’t fly, stay outta the sky!”
Failing to make her frustration understood… Skye runs away from home. Daring one more attempt to fly, gliding on wings made of leaves and sticky tar, she nearly kills herself falling through trees.
Back home late, she finds… Dad already Sang the Moon. Without her. Ultimately, Skye steps up, though… to risk Singing the Moon all by herself!

I Sing the Moon satisfies expectations for evergreen favorites – coming-of-age drama and friendship comedy – in a magical, nocturnal world.
I’m joined by artist Tintin Patoja. Our mission: to create books kids come to for joy, wonder, excitement, humor and most of all, the truth. Stories are a design for living well, and life is up for grabs!
I never made books for children till I became a Dad. My Halloween lullaby, Go to Sleep, Little Creep (Crown Books for Young Readers), brought “scary cute” to Publishers Weekly’s “Best Books” list in 2018. Inspired by my own daughter transformational journey from tween to teen, I Sing the Moon is “Olga” meets “Hilda” in the brilliant darkness of the Late Jurassic.
