Fading Memories
Ben’s anxiety is turned upside down when he visits his grandparents for the summer. His grandpa’s memories are literally fading from dementia, while Ben suppresses his own out of grief.
Following desperate clues from an old notebook Ben discovers an abandoned lab in the mountains, frees an imprisoned girl and miraculously finds a cure for his grandpa. His perfect new life begins to unravel when eerie voices and ghostly apparitions warn Ben of impending danger. Then the neighbor, who has been stalking him, helps Ben escape a fabricated reality he had unknowingly fallen into while at the lab. Ultimately, Ben learns to cherish his memories, embrace what is left of his grandpa and face life with a newfound resilience.

300My Why:
As a teen, I watched my middle-aged father’s physical and mental health decline after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s. As our stable family life fell to pieces, I often dreamed of a miracle cure, but nothing ever came. I have seen my father seemingly die a thousand times over the last 25 years, yet he is still alive. I have learned to cherish old memories, while creating many new ones despite his limitations.
Fading Memories is an approachable story that will entertain and educate. It will also cater to those who have loved ones suffering with life-debilitating diseases and help them navigate the endless grieving process and learn to embrace the spark of life that remains in their loved ones.
