Little Mx Know-It-All
Trivia star Georgie thinks they know everything until falling for cool, extroverted Karla turns their isolated world upside down. What begins as a whirlwind romance between two opposites gets complicated as the pressure of expectations starts to pull them apart! When Georgie breaks their winning streak at the trivia semifinals, their determination to challenge the ruling becomes a bigger fight to validate their nonbinary identity. Karla will need to overcome their own insecurities to save the relationship and show Georgie that the “right answer” doesn’t always lead to the truth. Little Mx Know-It-All is a YA romance about perfectionism, taking risks, and standing in your power in the vein of Heartstopper and Hockey Girl Loves Drama Boy.

This is a story about making a place for yourself in the world. Georgie and Karla come from my heart, made from pieces of myself and my family with details like trivia and bike riding. Little Mx Know-It-All is a love letter to the joy and angst of finding yourself in high school through friendship, love and making mistakes, based on my own experience of growing up in Northern Virginia. I didn’t know the vast possibilities of gender as a teen or where to start learning about them. So much more is possible now for queer youth but that freedom is under attack. As authority figures reject the reality of our lives, I want to tell this story for the teens who refuse to let anyone invalidate them.
