Intergalactic Star Scouts
After five misfit girls are convinced to join a scouting troop through their love of snacks, they suddenly notice that gravity is acting strange. With a makeshift backyard science lab, they uncover that Earth is hurdling toward a black hole and it’s up to them to stop it. Using their own unique strengths, they must journey to outer space to defeat an evil moon monster and save Earth as we know it. But, they will only succeed on their mission if they can learn to work together.
In this Lumberjanes meets Powerpuff Girls epic, scientific space facts are scattered amidst silly jokes to help educate and inspire girls to fall in love with the world of STEM.

100My Why:
According to Psychology Today, self-esteem is high in childhood and drops around age 11. This book targets kids during this low period to reassure them that being different is okay. All of the characters come from varying backgrounds so that all kids have a lovable and successful character that doesn’t fit the traditional mold to look up to.
I know the importance of having these characters as I have struggled with self-worth since middle school. I was deemed “too weird” and found myself isolated. This book is a way of creating those friends that I needed growing up and will hopefully protect others from the loss of self-worth I had. My hope is that this will be a book kids can turn to and see their quirks represented positively.
