The Monster Guide to Surviving Love

The Monster Guide to Surviving Love tells the story of 17 year old Arthur, who must protect his sister Lily, who turns into a giant fuzzy monster whenever she falls in love. When her crush, Emily, undergoes the same transformation, they must keep it a secret from Arthur Sr, their conspiracy-theorist, survivalist father. Arthur inadvertently ends up on TV protecting his sister, making the "curse" spread to other teens, which makes hiding become impossible; Arthur, Lily, and Emily must race to stop their father from activating a monster-ending machine that might spell doom for them all. In a divided world, the kids strive to prove that love and unity can conquer differences.

My Why:

I created this story because for the longest time I’ve been interested in the transformative power of love in all its forms, and attempting to make that love, in all its forms, accepted and embraced by everyone.
