When reserved Dawn and her outgoing sister Sonya move to the big city in the middle of the school year, their lives take a turn. Dawn is determined to fly under the radar and escape when summer releases them from school while Sonya is determined to bask in the glory of being the new kid in town. The pair are inseparable until they fall for the same guy and Dawn finds herself directing the school play where Sonya and their shared crush are the stars of the show. Dawn realizes she must find a way to step up and communicate all of the feelings she's been hiding from her sister and her crush or she will lose them both for good.

Every story begins with a seed of truth. This story is no different.
I was raised to believe it was noble to "suffer in silence" and disgraceful to "rock the boat". We were encouraged to solve our problems independently without telling anyone they existed in the first place.
In this story, Dawn was a vessel that allowed me to explore a wider viewpoint on the damage suffering in silence can have on relationships and the journey that changed the way I approach my relationships with others.
